In the movie  when Tron, Flynn and Ram escape the lightcycle grid, after they get past the tanks, their lightcycle de-activates. Then, after they drink the energy, the got back in their lightcycle. How did they do it?

Seems like once they have the cycle batons that Sark gives them, they can re-use them. Only thing I can think of.

iirc (from novelization) part of the energy they drank
went into re-initializing and rezzing-up the bikes again.
(someone who has the book correct me if i'm wrong)
we discussed energy transfer and how disney probably wanted to show
flynn as the only energy manipulator. (obviously disney
can't find a way around this scene)
also the scene is easily open to interpretation so disney
can get away with it. (the movie did not really go deep
into energy manipulation but the novel and draft screenplay did)

Yeah I always wondered about this as well.
I often thought did they just have the bars still with them?
Well Flynn is a user.
He can use some real user power and show them
what he can do on the Grid.

Everyone notice on the original T:L trailer, the baton was tossed into the air where it became the engine or body of the cycle? The rider had to jump on and seemingly catch it before it rode away lol. I prefer the baton becoming the handlebars since it just seems to make more sense.
