Why can't we make a video like this? I mean, I have the software... If we can't get 3.0 from diz then why don't we make it ourselves?

I watched it last night with the audio commentary. It's pretty entertaining with a 'how the heck did we do this?' vibe. I like the way Steven Lisberger talks about the philosophical and thematic stuff while the others go on about the technical aspects. Lisberger makes an interesting point about how CGI has been pushed more and more towards realism whereas in TRON he was trying to make the real stuff match the computer stuff. He feels there's been a trick missed with this concentration on trying to recreate the real world with CGI and I tend to agree.
Think it's probably best viewed with the original soundtrack though. So I'll PING! again soon...

I watched it twice yesterday. First I watched it in german and after that I watched it in english to listen to the original voices and to train my English a little bit.
LOL, during the film I remembered how many frisbees me and my friends had crashed while playing TRON in the garden

I'd like to ping in myself, but it's been several months since I've watch it personally. I'm WAY over due. I really must give it some of my time soon. Of course, then I'll just want to make my own sequel to it like I always want to do when I watch it. That's me!
