I'm sure they probably did. I just think it's fun to find shots like this where it's still in.

In my view, the biggest crime to cinema history ever perpetrated was the "skipping" (or whatever you call it) of the two "Love Scenes". Priceless error, 'til the point you can't possibly quantify it.

Tron and Yori showed us Programs are more human than humans themselves. Those two sequences were marvellous and highly poetic.

I've gotta find the email, but Steven explained to me in detail once why those scenes were cut. It mad eperfect sense to me when I read it. If I can dig it up I'll post it.

Well, even though the scenery and effects are spectacular, I'm not overly sure they fit with the movie. At the end Yori kisses Tron and he was kind of shocked by it. But yet, in the middle of the film, we're supposed to then buy that programs have sex? And if you've seen the footage then there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that's what they were doing. Naughty little programs.

But seriously... it didn't fit with the film. Their actions were too human and less program like in those scenes. I agree they were visually stunning though.

If the apartment scene had somehow been added in at the end of the film, it might have worked. A little epilogue on how Flynn affected their world . . . heh. Some of the dialogue would have to change, though. (Rezzing up the apartment wouldn't have been "illegal" any more.)

I think it would have been cool to see how their world changed for the better when they got back to the game grid. For all we know, riots broke out and mass anarchy took hold of the game grid, with the biting, and the gnashing of teeth and the breaking of the windows, and the null units running wild and all dat sorta thing.

But seriously, that would have been neat to see at the end. Maybe even after the credits, for the people who stuck around

In the computer world, Yori is kind've 'with' Tron, yet seems to have the hots for Flynn, too. It just seems the whole love dynamic would've been pretty weird if the love scene were put in. One must remember some of the looks I think Flynn gets from Yori and that she kisses Flynn when he's about to jump into the MCP Cone to save Tron. (If she had made love to Tron earlier in the movie and then romantically kissed Flynn later on, it just wouldn't make sense. Perhaps would've even been too controversial for Disney at the time.) ...

... Not to mention the fact that Lora is with Alan in the 'real world.'order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

I had assumed that the love scene was cut because it made the programs too human, not to mention that it brought up all sorts of thorny issues such as: if programs can have sex, can they have children? If they can, why don't users notice new programs suddenly appearing? If they can't, then what's the purpose of them having sex?

... And the fact that they feel refreshed by drinking liquid, get happy, get sad, get angry, get emotionally attached to each other, get scared, play frisbee, toss balls around, ride motorcycles, talk, laugh, philosophize, taunt, walk, run, jump and look like people doesn't make the programs too human? Hehe, just kidding... but you know what I'm saying...

Good point about the children. I guess I would've thought they were making love just for the good feelings they got from it; re-energizing each other or something, maybe?

There are a couple of real-world scenes that got cut (or perhaps they were never filmed?). One is the fairly well-known gas station scene where the two kids playing
the Ring Game (or whatever it was called) are wondering why
the controls won't respond.
Another one that I'm really sad didn't make it was the donut scene. This is when Laura is driving the ENCOM van past the
guard post. Flynn and Alan are hiding in the back. There's this uneasy silence as we see the two of them alone for the only time in the film. Flynn offers Alan a donut.

Kensu,

Are these scenes you talk of from the novelization of Tron? Or maybe a script?

The gas station scene was in the novelization, I don't remember the donut scene though.
The fourth draft of the script is out there, somewhere (possibly on Drew's Script-o-rama?). It's an interesting read. It explained some of the strange phrases that the MCP used (i.e. "what did he pull?") by stating that he sounded like a 1930's crime boss.
Also interesting, this might have appeared in the novel, but The Bit was supposed to follow Flynn around for the rest of the movie.
