Incedentally, if anyone ever has the opportunity to track down Edinburgh industrial outfit, Sykik Vandals, you might want to contact their guitarist (I forget his name).
Anyway, he has the circuitry (Flynn's design) from the Tron costume running up his leg, across his right arm and onto the upper part of his chest. It's some sight, impressive.
I can't find a website for them - I occasionally see him in the pub and he's a bit reluctant to strip off in front of everyone - but if you do, haggle him for some pix.

I've always wanted one, but they're expensive... at least for the one I want. I priced them out and still never came in under $200.00
I guess I just always think of other things I want for $200.00.

It's done in thick black ink. He's a very light-skinned guy, so it stands out brilliantly. Just imagine everyone's face whenever he walks into the swimming pool.

I've reached my descision gate!
This is what I/m getting.... as soon as I can talk my Tattoo shop into using the UV reactive Ink.
and I've done it in Normal light... but included the UV colors... so you can imagine how it's going to look
What does the Tron Sector think?

Will the small lines blur over time? If so, the sharp outlines of the reco might look a bit blurred. But as for your choice of colors, I think that's cool. Where is this tat going again?

In general its a pretty cool idea. Don't let my opinion sway you, because it's your body, you have to pick something you're happy with, but I like the front view better for a couple reasons. The perspective is definitely a cool shot of the recognizer, but the front view takes on more of a symbolic function. It conveys more of an idea, instead of this being a picture of something, it's a symbol. I guess it all depends on what you want to convey with your tattoo.
The other reason why I like the front view better is, if it's still destine for your back, then I think a symmetric image will work better than an asymmetric. If it was planned for your arm or maybe shoulder blade, or some other asymmetric part of your body, then I think either view would look fine.
All that being said, I don't have any tattoos, and don't really know you or what you look for in a tattoo. So, like I said don't let me sway you, just letting you know my thoughts on it. Either choice will look cool regardless, I mean it's a recognizer...

The lines should not blur any more than regular tattoos... and if they do, I can get them touched up just like regular ink.
and it's going across my back... in between the shoulder blades. 10 inches wide 8.5 tall.

Intense, Riparian! But cool. Good thoughts from Fretnoize there on symmetry. But I do think the one you've chosen would look sharp, too. A straight-on reco would convey more of an idea/presence, whereas the one you've chosen conveys more of a sense of scene/place/moment.

The UV ink looks like it's going to be a hard sell with my Artist here in Carson.
I might just have him do it in normal ink then when I find an artist who is willing to use UV... get it highlighted/re-done in UV.
On a side note... some of my co-workers who have seen TRON say I should do the left leg of the Recog, broken off, like the graveyard one that flynn found.
Thoughts?
