I had a thought last night. In the LC images people are trying to reconstruct, it's been noticed that the colored bars seem to repeat.

But do we know for sure that they repeat *exactly?* What if there are some minor variations?

If there are, then, given that we're talking about a 3D film, those minor variations might constitute a stereogram.

My reasoning:
The ARG is, ficticiously, created by the memebers of Flynn Lives who, as we all know, believe in the existence of Kevin Flynn. I was on the same wavelength as you guys this morning in regards to the duplication of bar codes and layering and spent some time earlier today working out the subtlties of the layering in the lightcycle code images. What I have uncovered is interesting and I think we are getting closer...

So...stepping back and trying to keep the data uncorrupted with the least amount of interpolation, i basically did a paint by color again but for the WHOLE image...figuring that any interleaving of patterns would work itself out in "alignment".

I made sure not to "move" any columns or rows...and leave them in position.

Look at what I uncovered (See below).

Each image has a "wallpaper" background consisting of one set of colored bars and you can see how it "runs" throughout the whole image....not sure if this is part of the code or just "filler".

Floating on top of this "wallpaper" are several chunks of bars that basically have been uprooted and shifted right or left in alignment...in some cases "5" columns over (that #5 showing up again)...thinking again just "noise" to distract.

What sticks out as a sore thumb are the little strings of color code with the purple blocks. In theory - I Think these are the codes we are supposed to extract...what they mean I have no idea...

Between both of the two images we get...surprise! "FIVE" strings of code total...that pesky five again.

The "Side Bars" are there to help you extract the last bar of these small strings of code...you can see how it got transplanted shifted down)

Anyways - we are one step closer...I think...but I hope you guys can figure out what these 5 codes mean?

please note that these strings can be read from left to right or right to left depending on the intended orientation...either native on screen when you open the web page or rotated in orientation per the cycle sketch.

Just kiddin haha. But nearly nobody makes file names that long (except me). So it really is very rare to have them that long, and to be 26 is pretty interesting.

Ever notice that topic ID 12 http://www.flynnlives.com/discussionforums/post.aspx?id=12 has 12 mentioned in it's posts twice? And the overlayed codes are 12 digits in length.

Other things '26':
- Wireless routers can have a 128-bit WEP key then it will accept 26 digit alpha-numeric key (but has to be in hex which this isn't)
- Activation code lengths for a couple games (starcraft)
That's all that google seemed to find. So possibly still it's alphabet related.

Saw this picture of the codes that were on the cards handed out http://i679.photobucket.com/albums/vv154/lefty_scout/wr1.jpg - this is exactly the same format as the code on the light cycle image. So could someone have already used these up on that part of the arg already, so they are not longer of any use? I tried entering them (like i'm sure has been done) but it says invalid code. It also requested codes specifically from the pickup.

I actually went through the binary files of the LC images and found that you could actually embed anything you wanted to without it being displayed. However there wasn't anything in there, just the basic image. An update to a previous post, one of the lightcycle images has actually two single pixel wide lines (not just 1) on the right side that has colors unique to the whole image (as far as I can tell) here.

I expanded the two single pixel lines into two color bars on the right. Why would they be left there? A mask? An accident?

Interesting note:
I've uninstalled my flash player to reinstall it, but haven't gotten around to it. When I clicked on this new link, I see the bars of color filling the screen, but in the top left I see "This Content Requires Adobe Flash (Get Flash)"
So, I'm not sure if all three image require Adobe (seeing as how I had Adobe upn the discovery of the first two), or if it's just the third. Either way, this seems promising.
