Boy, I'm sure glad they don't give out any swag or badges to the handful of people who actually make the journey from 30 minutes away, pay for parking, and show up within 30-40 minutes of the start time for their city. It seems this type of effort should be rewarded to the handful who actually do this.

Yes, the thousands who simply stay at their PC and plug in ARG codes for puzzles others solve should get stuff, too. But it just seems odd to not reward the select few who actually make an effort, fighting traffic and everything else, to physcially go to the locations.

Instead, they only had 1 package to hand out -- to the first operative.

Surely there could have been some consolation prizes. A pin, a note from Zack, a sticker, something. Something other than nothing. Something to simply say, "Thanks for trying." I don't mean they should sit there and hand something out to everyone for 3 hours, but maybe just the few who show up within, say, 45 or 60 minutes max. There are some people that like Tron that don't live inside the city.

I showed up 30 to 35 minutes after my city opened up, and the FlynnLives contact was there, but already gave the package away 15-20 minutes earlier. And yet, the website was still telling people to hurry up and go there. And was for another 10 minutes beyond. Had I known it was swiped up 10-15 minutes into the city opening up, I could've done a U-turn and saved me a lot of time, money and energy.

I've seen a lot of cool, fun things with the ARG. But have also witnessed a few epic fails, mainly the "in-person" ARG events where operatives who bust their bums to go to the location, come out with absolutely nothing in return.

I was with the Culver City group fron 9 am until 3... waiting all day for the pdf file for Los Angeles to be put up.... Rushed through bad traffic in West LA to get to the spot and get... nothing at all after all that waiting and effort..

Yesterday was really amazing. San Diego didnt get picked but that was ok. I'm glad me and a few others were doing the twitter feeds giving the locations on where to go. It was a great experience. Thanks to 42E for a great ARG. From solving the Arcade Aid puzzles..to the SDCC location hunt... and to this "end game" , it was a great ride. It got me to know everyone in the Tron field. I like to thank everyone here at Tron Sector, unfiction, and whatever else we used. It was a great honor te meeting some of you and getting to know you guys on FB.

I have video of the drop up over at GeekFilter (I was there shortly after the @cybergosh, the winner). We were there in front of the Astroburger about 20 min, then were directed just up the street to a park where he got more instructions, a t-shirt, etc. They interviewed us, took a group photo and then we all came back to the AstroBurger. Some of us stayed and had a snack, but didn't really see many people filter in except a group from over in the UCLA area. It was about 4:50 before we all left. BTW, when we returned the sticker was gone.

It was a truly great afternoon of TRONBonding! And the winner really deserved it.
