Not necessarily. Action figures of female characters in a strong "boy" brand are notoriously poor sellers (April O'Niel). As ridiculous as it sounds to you and me, it is actually a good thing for toy sales that Quorra has a pretty cool looking helmet, and uses a katana. I would rather have her without her helmet (or at least have the option...especially since she ONLY wore it when driving the Light Runner), but history tells us that the "toy" buying boys don't want feminine figures. Collectors, of course (with more interest in females ), would disagree.
In this case, leaving the helmet on also helped get approval on the figure more quickly for the early waves, because it didn't need to go through talent approval. Needless to say, development timelines on licensed brands are much more tightly compressed than on non-licensed brands, so timing can be huge. Also, I don't remember knowing ahead of time how much of the movie she spent without her helmet.

Now I am REALLY hoping this line does well. Wheatking, I do wonder... If you'd be so kind... someone was told by customer service that no more 7" figures were planned beyond wave 1. Should we necessarily trust that or could they have been misinformed?

Awesome! I have to ask, and I'm not trying to be snarky, just realistic.
What happened with Kevin? His headsculpt is very generic. Was there a likeness issue, or a time issue, or is it the combination of decent sculpt, with lousy paint apps? I'm looking at it right now, and it seems like there might be a decent sculpt under there, but it's hard to tell.
In nearly every other respect, the figures are fantastic. I'm just disappointed that the human likenesses are lacking. Between me and extended family, my kids got nearly every Spinmaster Tron toy for Christmas, and they love them! They hope for more characters and they really want a representation of "the grid" itself... I think I may just print out a pattern out for them on my printer that we can lay on the table...

Let's break this down. You come on here posting that you have items for sale on ebay at triple what the cost to you is and than try and say that you are only trying to help other members out. Helping a fellow member out is getting them something at cost+shipping. If you say that comment was directed at one person, why not PM them, why post it for everyone else to read, you should have known that might upset some people. And like others have already said, this is not the correct thread to post such things. So because I respond to your stupidity (which I shouldn't have because look where it is now) and use the word "scalper" which is exactly what you were doing, you have chosen to single me out and start with the childish name calling? In regards to this comment:

Know this, I'm 32 with a wife and 3 kids, and work damn hard for my living. You calling me a "rich little punk" only shows that you don't know what the hell you are talking about. As for the comment about my father, and get this one very clear, if you ever mention another one of my family members here again, I will make sure you are banned permanently.
If you have anything further to say, do it in a PM. This thread is not the place for such things.

Found the Series 2 diecast, the Deluxe Light Jet and Deluxe Kevin and Rinzler discs today! No Series 2 figures, but those are on the way to me as part of a trade. Sad there is no Castor coming out right now... hopefully he'll show up in restocks of this wave? Or is he being held back for another wave entirely?
Also, for those who have the deluxe Light Jet... on the box it shows an intake fan (which is screen accurate) but on mine there was a smooth plate with a weird bump on it. Did anyone else have this? I almost wondered if it was assembled the wrong way and the exhaust fan detail is on the other side. I am probably exchanging this Light Jet anyway because there's a big scratch on the orange section that connects to the figure. Besides that issue, I really like the Light Jet! I really hope we can get the 3-man Light Jet. That would be amazing.

You know, I always wondered why this forum is such a quiet place. With an first class *** of a moderator like yourself it isnt hard to figure whats the problem. You are getting ahead of yourself do you. coming up with rules as they go along and shape-shifting arguments i dont even know where to start. If you "demand" PM why then didnt you came up this rule for such a subject. wheres that rule? did you just type one last night as you wrote this response? I havent seen this rule.
You reasoned "Helping a fellow member out is getting them something at cost+shipping." COST?????!!! What is cost to you doesnt mean it cost to everyone. Do you consider the additional transport I took to and fro to get just that item? the extra cost of getting the odd shape box because the disc size is odd. Do you know currency is different in different countries and standard of living varies. Can someone educate him pls cos I aint got the time to vomit out Macro and Micro economics. How about HELP ME HELP YOURSELF. Better? You are lazy in your argument and condescending.
Tron the movie and ideal in not just for America and particularly CA. Its a global fanfare and everyone has different difficulties as to how they can help. Its americans like you that gives america a bad name and think the whole earth revolves around them in terms of economic equality and fair trade.
I bet everyone has seen our post and they know who's unreasonable. Its just that not many have the guts to stand for themselves when provoked. Frankly, even if i should post stuff like that, I am a newie and should be explained and not just be directed and provoked with sarcasm.
I dont care if you ban me for petty reasons, its just sad That there are fans like you who happen to run this forum like an MCP.

Hmm... I have to say I find the featureless plate odd and annoying. It really takes away from the look of an otherwise very cool toy.
I think they are all orange. I think the yellow just looks that way because of the lighting. I do hope they release an alternate version for Clu though eventually.

Ugh, no Tron stuff for Christmas at all. I was told no one could find any Tron stuff in stores. I guess they didn't look in the toy section. Oh well. Still all I see is series 1 stuff all over. I'll keep on looking though. When did Wheat King say the official street date for the series 2 stuff was? January 5th or something? I can't seem to find that particular post. I just wonder how so many of the series 2 toys are being seen in more places before the actual release date. "The dark can embrace the light, but never eclipse it." |
