Oh what a night. Another wave of 'store surfing' for me and my boy.

Hit 3 Kmarts. Their stock doesn't seem to be moving at all. Got lucky and found another Rinzler throwable ID in a less-than-perfect outer packaging, but the disc was fine. Wish I could get a couple more, but the well is dry here now.

Hit the Disney Store for the first time. They were having a 25% off sale on Tron stuff. Nothing there that I needed, and no series 2 stuff. They did have the Baton Launchers like Target did. Surprised me, since I thought they were Target exclusives. I already have 2, but I keep them sealed...mainly because they're a POS. lol. Just looked at one of the launchers I bought at Target, and it has a sticker on it that says "only at Target". O.o

ToysRUs: again, inventory doesn't appear to be moving. No Series 2 stuff. They were running low on the deluxe IDs and had NO diecasts.

Hit 2 Targets: score. Got a Kevin Deluxe ID Only one disc between the 2 stores. I manage to get like one of those every time we 'store surf'. This time, I noticed the Deluxe Rinzler IDs hanging around now. Seems like they are stocking more of those. Each store had 2-3 of those (which we left, since I have all I need). Nothing new at either store. Die casts were all series 1. Some figures. All series 1. They have 2 areas now for Tron stuff: in the aisle and on an endcap. Seems they put the 'good stuff' on the endcaps. That's where we've found all of it. All I need now is ONE MORE Kevin disc. Sigh. LOL.

A couple of observations:

1) nobody had the new 3-man lightjets in yet
2) the 'action packs' are disappearing (still no sam+arcade...grrr)
3) the people in the stores are starting to recognize us ROFL
4) I noticed for the first time the paint variants in the die cast. OMG!!!! I saw a Clu Sentry diecast cycle that had like a puke-pinkish color paint on it! I saw an orange colored Clu diecast cycle...like in some of the 'villain packs' at TRU. With all these different colors, we decided NOT to collect the different paint variants. Chances are, we'd never get them all.
5) Most important of all: the Deluxe IDs at TRU ARE different than the ones that Target is selling! Confirmed. The TRU discs sound and look WAY 'faster' than the Target ones...which sound very SLOW! We tested a bunch at TRU (that already had the pulltabs pulled), and we tested the discs at the 2 different Targets again. WO. No idea what's going on, but we prefer the faster light and sound, so we bought a couple more Deluxe IDs from TRU (full price...major ugh). Unfortunately, all the discs at TRU had the pulltabs missing (MAN I hate that!), but we bought a couple regardless.

That's all the news from my corner of the country. A long night, but netted another of the Rinzler throwables and a Deluxe Kevin Flynn ID. Can't complain about that

I made the rounds today.

Tulalip Target - No series 2 figures, very few diecasts (6?), a single one-man light jet and two sam cycles.

Tulalip WalMart - No core figures other than a single Rinzler. basic assortment of lightcycles, but now they have CLU ones in as well.

Fred Meyer - Totally cleaned out. 50% off rack. One Kevin FLynn core, 2 Sam Flynns.

Alderwood TRU - Surprised me. They had the typical near-the-door display, mostly cleaned out and no vehicles. back in the action figure section, they had a rather large strip dedicated to em. No series 2 figs, but... 3-man light jet! Score.

My opinion of the light jet is that it's an excellent toy as far as playthings go. As a collector, I feel that the $30 I payed with tax and all was a little steep for the quality. The discs on the core figure backs don't snap into the seat like you'd expect. Quorra is shown in the gunner position because her skirt keeps her legs from going into a sitting position. Kevin's robe keeps him from sitting properly too. The plastic feels a bit soft, and assembly was definitely a pain. Old Star Wars vehicles are better constructed...

At any rate, considering I'm just setting it on a shelf with the intent to later hang it from my ceiling, it's nice eye-candy for the collection. If I were a little kid, I would play the hell out of it.

I'm new here, but just as much a Tron fan. I've been searching out every Tron toy there is and this site has been extremely helpful.

FYI, Tron and Target. Certainly not as exclusive as they seem to believe! I've been able to find every Tron toy there except for the 3 Man Jet. I've been hunting between 6 stores since last Wednesday for one and ended up calling the local store who checked the inventory across the northern part of Houston... nothing. Today, Sunday Jan, 30, walked into the Woodlands, Texas Toys R US and they had 6 lined up on the shelf. Who HOOO!!!

Not sure what's going on, but Target has been hit and miss in their stocking of their shelves as far as I can tell. On Friday I went to 4 Targets and at one store found two rows of Rinzler discs with barely anything else left, certainly no Kevin Flynn Discs. At the next store I found 6 Kevin Flynn Discs and no Rinzler discs! Really Strange.

About the 3 Man Jet though, really disappointing for me. The scale is great and fits well with the 1 Man Jet I picked up last weekend. Unfortunately, this is the first Tron toy that doesn't come with batteries installed. Requires 3 AAA's, to which I thought "AWESOME! It will light up for a long time and have some really cool effects like the Sam Flynn and Clu Light Cycles..."

NOPE! Worst light features of any of the toys so far. 3 AAA batteries to just light up the firing canons, and only the firing canons! And ONLY when they fire!! Doesn't even light up when you insert a character!

Speaking of, anyone else notice that NONE of the characters will fit into the Light Runner with their discs in place? And even when you pop in two characters to the light cycle slots nothing happens and nothing changes when you push the buttons??? Also, anyone get the light runner to light up for more than a second of blinking?

I was hoping for the main core vehicle toys to light up and make noises for long periods of time like the Deluxe Sam Flynn and Clu Light Cycles, but everything else, Kevin Flynn's LC, the Light Runner, the 3 and 1 man jets, just blink on and then off again. Even though you have to install 3 AAA batteries... for what?!?!?!

Not happy with SpinMaster at all. Disappointed that we can't get the UK 'Recogniser' set with tanks or the pull back bike.

BTW, I hope you all know that Disneystore.com is selling everything at reduced prices. All of the Diecast toys are only $2.99, the 1 Man Light Jet Core Vehicle is only $11.99 and everything else is reduced.

That said, any idea when Wave 3 will be released or what could possibly be in it?

Yeah, back around Christmas I picked the two light cycles, Sam and Clu, up from the Target near my house. They had a few back then. Again, this was before Christmas, and I think it was even before the movie came out. I was at Wal-Mart on Saturday, looking for the three man jet, which they didn't have, and saw that they had one Clu Deluxe Light Cycle left there.

Nope! My bad! I picked them up at Wal-Mart before Christmas! The Deluxe Cycles. I just remembered. Hard to remember where I've picked up everything and when.

All 3 Identity Discs I picked up at Target (Rinzler, Hlynn's and Sam's).

I picked up 3 Diecasts at Target before Christmas and both the RC Sam and Clu at Target before Christmas.

I picked up the 1 Man Light Jet and Kevin Flynn light Cycle at Target.

The 3 Man Light Jet at Toys R Us tonight, Sunday.

I ordered the rest of the entire line of Diecast toys from Disneystore.com at $2.99 each.

Quorra and Rinzler Core Figures I picked up from Walmart. (not too interested in the rest of the action figures and Sam and Kevin look SOOOO bad!)

I received the Deluxe Sam Flynn 12" for Christmas, but returned it to Target to get some of the vehicles.

Sam and Quorra fit into the Light Runner just fine... at least from my experience. But they ARE tricky to get in there. You have to place the figures in, close the hatch and THEN push the protruding disc-sections into the slots in the seats. When you do this, the Light Runner should stay lit for a very long time.

As for the Light Cycles, I don't think the characters do much with them. The same with the one-man Light Jet. I believe they are just set on springs so you can activate the light-up action of the figures by pressing on the button.

Hold down the button on the Deluxe Cycles until they 'Power Up' then they go on for a LONG time. Also, once powered up, they respond to the wheels rotating. So if you roll them forward on a deck they light up and make racing sounds! I believe this only occurs with the figures in place on the bikes. I'll try the light runner again right now.

Wow, they HAVE to be sitting in the seat and I had to pop off their heads to be able to close the 'door' but you're right the light stays on for about 10 seconds now.

Blah. I already went down that road. Got sent the same thing. Wrong picture. The female CS said they were having lots of problems with the Tron lineup. No idea why they don't PUT UP THE RIGHT PICS! Stupid. Same thing with the Grid limo. It's orange, instead of blue like the pic shows. Bummer, because I LOVED the way the limo looked in the pic with blue paint instead of orange.

BTW: I'm getting the impression that Walmarts are stocking Clu Deluxe Lightcycles again? Seems like all of a sudden people are finding them. Anyone?
