Re-Rez-Ram Wrote:Via Collider....now a Brazilian website is reporting that Legacy will be hitting in March and tbey have listed the extras the standard dvd and the blu-ray will have. They are even speculating that this might be a more bare bones release with a super-duper collectors edition to get released later on this year.

Oh...I have to buy two? I guess that's okay. I hope these sell well...People are saying that this is the last hurdle to pass to get a Tron 3. If it sells well, we get it. If it doesn't...

I really hope they don't pull the same BS they did with Lord of the Rings. I really, really hated that. Still do with their Blu-Ray release (or lack thereof) of the extended editions.

If that's the case then I'll just wait for the special or complete edition to be released and buy it then.

There's nothing wrong with double-dipping as long as the company is being forthcoming about the information. Don't release a bare-bones with a double dip a year later unless you tell people that that's what you're doing.

I'm fine with a double dip, it helps the studios make some money off people who can't or don't want to wait. No one is forcing anyone to buy two copies, and most viewers don't even watch special features. This enables everyone to get a good copy of the movie early, and then for collectors/super fans or people who missed it the first time around, a loaded collection hits a year later. It helps keep the brand in the public conscious longer too, with two separate releases.

As long as we know there are two separate releases going into it, that's fair. Now, if they release a bad transfer on the first release, that's a different story altogether. Avatar handled things the right way imo. Fantastic barebones transfer for people, all the while knowing there was a super version coming down the road. Now, what they are doing with the 3D exclusive version is kinda messed up...order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

I wonder if this will put off the 3D blu-ray if we just get a bare bones release in March or April. I was all hyped up ready to buy a 3D tv in the next few months if we were getting Tron: Legacy in 3D blu-ray.

Making people wait a year for something that could easily be released now is absurd and upsets the fans. I'm fine with them releasing different versions at the same time, but I'll never support double dipping that makes you wait, regardless of whether or not they're upfront about it.abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

I for one buy the most complete version I can as soon as it is released. If a later version has even more features and is thus worth my money comes out then I sell my original and upgrade. I've done itwith Casino Royale (replacing DVD withBlu-ray), Avatar (2D Blu-ray replaced with 3D), and now that another version is out, will most likely flog off my Godfather DVD box in favor of the Coppola Restoration Blu-ray set! I don't mind paying for the same thing twice, as long as the second is in some way superior to my last.

Disney has announced Tangled will be coming out March 29th. They are also re-releasing Bambi in March so that more than likely will put Tron Legacy in April but still nothing set in stone. Source is below....

I don't mind the double dip as long as fans know what they're getting. For example, with the collector's edition of Avatar, I didn't mind the double dip, but what I did mind was the lack of a combo dvd/blu ray. You had to buy one or the other which stank big time for me. Other than that, I knew what I was getting into (I got the single combo dvd/blu ray when it first came out, then got the blu ray collector's edition)

I wonder what a collector's edition would be like? It would be cool, in my opinion, to have a collectors box with a stand in the shape of an identity disc where you can put the blu ray/dvds inside of it. But don't mind me, I'm just shooting the breeze.

Damn, I was kind of hoping they would release BOTH movies seperately on DVD. I don't want them both in one set.

Here is some really exciting news I just found!!! The U.S. release date for Tron Legacy and Tron on blu ray comes out on April 5th, 2011. There is a combo set that includes tron legacy, tron legacy 3d and tron blu rays with dvds and digital copies. Also each individual movie is sold separate. Check it out, the link is below.

I agree completely....will this be available? I refuse to believe they won't release them individually! Collectors like us would go mad!

Don't think you have to worry about that. It looks like it will be like tangled, in which they release the Blu-Ray first, and then the dvd.

DVD's aren't that outdated for disney to stop manufacturing them.

At last! I'm happy about the official us date because I just found out that we are never getting open captioned showing of Tron Legacy because Disney decided to be stupid and used rear window captioning instead of digital.

So furious at them for an idiotic move. (No RW captioning where I am.)

You lost me at "Open captioned' was found again until you mentioned "Rear Window captioning"

I'm guessing Rear Window captioning has something to do with James Stewart and Grace Kelly.

What does this mean. Even though I am a Tron fan I get lost in techno babble very easily.

... not funny, guys.

Rear Window captioning = person reads captions off of a glass pane (there is a display that has backwards captioning which reflects off onto the pane as normal captioning) it's a major nuisance in terms of not having the glass pane stand fall over when watching/reading.

Open Captioning = like closed captions but not enclosed in a black box.

Closed Captioning = white text in a black box. If you enable captions on your tv, you will see this.

Subtitles = everyone knows this one. :P CC/OC tends to describe sounds too, unlike subs.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online
