I was thinking of getting a tattoo on my side at some point (hard to find a good spot to put a bigger design) and I hear that's pretty painful too...both over the ribs, and on the abdomen where there's nothing to "anchor" the skin. I haven't even decided yet if I'm going to get it, though, so I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. I plan on getting a couple tiny designs soon on my wrists, so if I find I can't even take that, obviously I wouldn't plan on something bigger and in a more painful area. But, we'll see. Everything I've read--even from people with a lot of piercings-- says an industrial piercing hurts like a mother too and I just didn't think it was very bad at all... maybe my piercer just rocked, I dunno. I'm usually not all that tolerant to pain.
