OK, my bad there. Not well stated on my part.
What I meant there by that statement, how to explain?...well, ...a risk of that magnitude, without either of them knowing it's outcome beforehand, could mean Flynn and Spark putting themselves essentially into the equivalent of a death ray...and for either of them to step into that sort of risk willingly - it's like saying, "I know this may end up killing me, and because you're my son/daughter/friend/loved one, I will take that risk in order to save your life."

So, yes, I know Spark would both take that risk, in a heartbeat, to save her friends and loved ones. And we know Flynn would, because he has - in Legacy - basically knowing it would kill him, no speculation about that. I think what I was trying to convey (and yet failed at conveying, LOL) ...was that both Spark and Flynn would know it was an extremely dangerous and potentially lethal risk, so they wouldn't take it lightly or without great forethought, that's all.

I think in doing that.. would not only shorten the Portal time.. but start more of the Grid's destruction because of the power draw as well as the portal closing.. GOOD STUFF..
