Okay, here is part two of this piece of the backstory.

Spark's mind was sluggish, all her concentration focused on holding on to Tron as he moved smoothly though the water. She noted that the circuitry on his body was still flickering between blue-white and red-orange, but the flickers were less pronounced than before.

Finally, after what felt like days, they came into a small cove and reached the shore. When the water was waist-deep, Spark slipped from Tron's back. Her knees buckled when she hit the ground, and Tron caught her before she fell. He picked her up and carried her over to one of the walls. He gently set her down so she was leaning against it, and collapsed beside her, immediately going into temporary shut-down. Spark rubbed her temples, wishing she could do the same. But she couldn't, not yet. She had work to do. She reached over and pulled Tron's disk out of its sheath. The dark helmet folded away, and Spark cast a glance at the program's face. It was smoothed out in the program equivalent of sleep, and Spark turned her attention back to the disk. Opening the interface panel, she stared at the code in dismay. She set the disk on the ground before her and sighed, running her hand through her wet hair. "Stars, this is going to take a while. What did Clu do to you, Tron?"

Fifteen minutes later, Spark had to resist the urge to throw the disk away from her. "Dammit," she hissed. "Clu, if you weren't already derezzed, I'd kick you into next week myself." The code in the disk was a snarl of tangled loops and forced overrides. "No wonder he's fighting himself so much." Spark found that she couldn't undo the repurposing, not on her own. "I wish you were here, Flynn," she mumbled. "I can't do this alone."

Finally, Spark had managed to remove most the overrides and splice back the missing functions, but she couldn't get rid of the Rinzler persona or the directive entirely. Not all at once. Carefully, Spark wrote several code strands that would unravel the Rinzler code slowly enough to keep Tron from going insane. This is going to be a slow process, she thought. But at the end of it, Tron should be himself again.

Spark slid the disk back into place and watched it synchronize. Slowly, Tron - Rinzler - began to reboot. The helmet rezzed back in before he woke fully. Spark watched Rinzler sit up and look around. The rumbling purr started up again and Spark relaxed. "Rinzler?" The helmet turned to look at her. "Rrrrr....Spark?" The voice was low and rough from disuse. Spark nodded. "Yeah, it's me."

I have several questions,...I'm intrigued because you've developed a very good back-story for Rinzler and Spark ... would like to know more about Spark's character and history - i.e., things like how she first discovered the Grid, why she stays there although she's a User and could go back to Real World, if she's now a neutral then what does that term mean in terms of the biodigital makeup of Users vs programs, how does she know Flynn, Clu, how she originally met Tron, just things like that.

Cool! That works well with Flynn's backstory ... at some point in the RP Flynn's gonna meet up with Alan Bradley, (I will write as Alan in those posts) and I'm gonna stick with canon there, in that Alan won't know of the Grid or the basement lab at the arcade ... so if Spark's the one who helped Flynn set up the laser platform then that works well with canon. I'm assuming she's from Encom?

Has to be in the User world, which is where Flynn's headed. Not givin' spoilers besides that, but, not anywhere near done with this plot. I think this RP we have going can and should go on as long as we want it to, even when Flynn goes back to the User world for a while. Just means we'd need to each preface our postswith a time-stamp heading, such as "User World : 1982" ...or... "Grid : 2011", ....or... "Encom Grid : 1982" ,...etc, etc etc,... just like they do with some movies/TV shows as the scene changes especially if the show involves different locations and/or different flashbacks back and forth in time. See what I'm saying? I think we can keep all that going in this one RP thread ... of course there's the option to split it off into Grid/User world as two different threads, but personally I'd like to see us keep it all as one thread here, for ease of accessibility and cohesion.
