As much as I agree on that, I don't like it when they are too much for the kids. For instance the Thor and Captain America figure line. Instead of the regular accessories like other lines have, they all had these really dumb gimmicky accessories. All in poor scale and cheap in quality (but for kids they would be great). I think it would be best to have stuff included for the kids and the stuff collectors will use for display, but most companies don't share that idea. But if it brings another Tron movie, I will give in.
So how did I do in it not being in essay form?

I was just kidding, but you did great. Some posts just get a little longish. As for the toys, they are just that, toys. But there will always be collectables produced by other companies. I would just REALLY love a NERF Identity Disc. Is it too much to ask for?

Kaisergrendel Wrote:Nah that doesn't equate to assuming Tron isn't re-appearing. It's just hard to believe the one core actor promising a sequel because he is also the only one not signed up.Like you said Tron without Tronzler would a little farcical.

*I* think that, but that doesn't mean Disney does. Wouldn't be the first thing they've done with this franchise that I've questioned.

Of course, you all know what I think of them not signing BB yet-- I think it's all a bit of drama intended to get us riled up and they have no intention of not signing him. If nothing else, I'd think they'd need his voice, even just briefly. And I can't see him taking it lying down if they don't; he seems to care about the whole franchise way too much.

Based on interviews, his attitude towards being asked to do T:L was something like "You want *me* to do a sequel? Ok cool!". I'm sure he cares about Tron, but I'm not sure if he'll fight as much as you think he will.

I'm not willing to invest in too much conjecture about why he isn't publicly involved yet. All we know is he isn't, it could go either way, and the only thing that will change my mind is if someone official announces it in unambiguous terms.

OscarGungan Wrote:I suppose its possible that by now he is signed up to do it. I don't they'd make any kind of announcement about it until they have a release date and a name picked out. It's all about timing with the marketing department and it doesn't seem they feel a need to let us in on every turn of the screw.

That may be reassuring for some, but it is still, just a guess, and not something to bet on.

OscarGungan Wrote:I like Bruce Boxleitner but he isn't in huge demand. I can't imagine the bean counters at Disney are saying they need to ax him to make the movie more affordable. They'd lose alot more than they'd gain by not having him involved.

Nope, but I don't think anyone's theorizing he could be dropped due to budget, either, not especially since Jeff Bridges is signed on and he isn't.

AriesT Wrote:TRON 3 will not be made before 2013. Why? Because 1. they look on the Uprising run and 2. Oblivion is scheduled for 7/19/2013. So Kosinski would not have time until mid 2013 to direct if they choose him again.

Another poster thinks Disney selling the rights for Oblivion to Universal = Disney dropping Kosinski.

AriesT Wrote:However, I think some people here are very wrong. TRON Legacy forgot the kids? HELL no! Please keep the PG rating or even lift it to PG-13! The Dark Knight and Begins also forgot the kids, though it is Batman, and now have a look on how well TDK did at the BO. It would have been a success even without Ledgers tragic death (plus the movie has a far better quality than TL to be honest).

The subpart in the bracket is the key why TL just had a mediocre run. The story was confusing at some point and some scenes just did not fit right into the movie. They do not need the kids, they need good screenwriters.

Amen. Although I can't blame Disney for wanting to include the kids.

AriesT Wrote:I do not give anything about what Boxleitner says. Some "insiders" also said, there will be a movie after TRON 2.0. There was no movie until 2010.

Yeeeep.

AriesT Wrote:400 Million dollars are not that bad of a BO run - if the budget is less than ~ 120 Million. TL just gained the production and merchandising costs - remember that only 50% of the BO sales go back to Disney.

Seems to be an error here - Aren't merchandising costs expected to be offset by *merchandise* sales?

AriesT Wrote:So I'D say Tron 3 will not be in theatres before 2015. And then they might have a problem if Bridges gets too old. People want him back. If Disney does not, this would break the movies neck and we might se an even worse BO run. If the movie is not in production until 2014 / 15 then I believe there will be no sequel.

I agree, 2014/2015 seems to be the break point.

Sorry but I can't trust you, not when you have nothing but your own word to go by. Thanks for clarifying on the movies.

I'll be celebrating the 23rd aniversary of my 20th birthday in Feb 2012 (=43). I've been on the web every day, looking for info on a possible Tron 3. My my statement on Disney's focus on the youth(future tron fans) came from an article with insider input. I just can't find the story. I understand your doubt, you don't know me. No hard feelings. Just remember, Disney has never said NO to a Tron 3. They have, however, hired David Digilio to write the story, and/or screenplay, for Tron 3. He is perfect for the job. He will study all aspects of Tron, at all levels(Tron, Tron: Legacy, Tron: Uprising, Tron 2.0, etc) and come up with the perfect story. I have faith, and will remain hopefull.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

I totally agree. It will do us a whole lot more good to be hopeful and optimistic about all of this. Especially, since no one has officially come out and said no, its never happening. If the fanbase is negative and craps all over it then why should Disney be motivated to do anything with the property.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Why not revive Ed Wood?

...

@Grendel:
Why should they drop Kosinski? Again, it was not his fault the sotry was not good. Disney already fired the LOST boys for the TRON 3 script (which is GOOD!!!!) and just let them produce a bit of the Uprising stuff. Kosinski had some great visions and shots, he is a good one. However, he is no Nolan who does everything by himself. He needs to get the right input - and he did not recieve the right story input for Tron Legacy.

I *am* hopeful, but mine is a cautious hope. Like Joss Whedon's Firefly I would pay a lot of my own money just to get the show to continue if I could.

As always, one would be more motivated to spread good news than a bad ones. If a decision has been made to discontinue the franchise, which I doubt by the way, then they don't really stand to gain anything by announcing it. It doesn't matter how many yeses are given along the way - it only takes one "no" to end it.

The fact that I am still here should speak volumes for where my belief lies, but I also want to be realistic.

(I wasn't suggesting that Kosinki take the fall, just quoting someone else's movie buzz.)

I completely agree, any top tier director could have done much worse with the same script. Kosinski's measured, deliberate style manages to tingle with possibility (possibility that was promised but not delivered by the script). I am hopeful with the new writer, but also fearful it could turn out worse.

Yeah I'd buy it too.

No, The Asylum's movies are super-low budget action films that are either incredibly stupid ideas (Megashark vs. Giant Octopus, Mega Piranha, Sharktopus) or really bad ripoffs of big budget movies (Snakes on a Train, Transmorphers, Transmorphers 2: Fall of Man (which starred Bruce Boxleitner)).

Honestly, if you can look at any of these with a straight face then something is seriously wrong with you:

Hopefully, a Tron 3 gets the respect and budget it deserves and isn't some strange direct to video travesty.

As far as The Asylum's flicks go, they are good for a laugh on Netflix or the SciFi channel. Check out Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus for the scene of the shark jumping 8 miles out of the ocean to bring down a passenger jet and Debbie Gibson taking a stab at acting.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Here are only a few of the established actors that stared in Asylum movies:

Bruce Boxleitner - he was in some Matrix type movie in the 80s
Patrick Muldoon - was in Starship Troopers
Bo Svenson- 80s and 90s action movies star
Barry Bostwick- star of many movies and tv series
Renee O'Connor- Xena's sidekick
C. Thomas Howell- Red Dawn, The Hitcher
Marc Singer - V
Judd Nelson- Breakfast Club
Michael Gross- Family Ties, Tremors

I am telling you guys, since Disney dumped Kosinski, replace him with Uwe Boll to write the script and direct, let The Asylum produce and then Disney can release and market the movie.

I am thinking that Renee O'Connor, Ron Perlman, Mark Dacascos, and even Lance Hendrikson would jump at the chance to be in T3.
