Well, we know that a script is being worked on. And if they decide to have Kosinski direct the next one, then production will most likely begin in 2014.

Kosinski is presently filming Oblivion (principal photography is supposed to be completing this month) and probably another year of post-production before its theater release sometime in 2013. It's likely that he will then turn his efforts to another TRON film if Disney decides to move forward and keep him as director. So, I'm thinking late-2013, early-2014 before any pre-production/production really gets rolling.

Unfortunately we have to just wait and see. But fortunately for all of us, we have TRON: Uprising to keep us somewhat occupied until we hear one way or the other.

This, pretty much. Every time i see one of these threads I think there's actually news. Then I find out it's just another "so when's it coming out?" thread, with the same replies of what Kosinski's doing now and "but Bruce said..." usually with someone chiming in with "but Bruce isn't the official voice and he got in trouble for saying..." and sometimes that devolves into a downright argument, especially if someone says "but do we even know there's going to BE another film?" and then sometimes we get links to other interviews too and...

I don't know, it could be sort of like The Terminator. You travel back in time but wind up in a separate "branch" as to not affect the "main" flow of time and potentially create a paradox scenario (i.e. You go back in time to stop yourself from spending money, but then you never spent money and never had a reason to go back in time, thus you never went back in time and never stopped yourself from spending the money, causing you to go back in time and stop yourself from spending the money, and so on).
