Regular Rinzler disc found today at a local Kmart.

Since TRU and Kmart seem to be the only place carrying the regular discs, and TRU has not stocked anything new in awhile, I thought to check Kmart.....score! They say Series 1.

When I last saw that on ebay it had 48 mins left and it was up to 10 bids. I kept checking to see if anyone else had posted any questions concerning if it was indeed Tron. Guess I should had followed it till the end and seen who won it. Like to find out if he is one lucky guy or dissapointed customer like the rest of us.

Here's what I did at a Target the other night...

The Tron section was a mess. I was only looking for the Series 2 ID's, but all they had were about 8 Sam disks. I grabbed one, scanned it, and it came up as "IN BACK: YES". I then proceeded to take the 7/8 discs and put them on the bottom shelf. My plan was to take a single disc up to an employee and just say I wanted several and this was all that was out. Of course I could have simply given him the DCPI, but I wanted to present a visual sample.

I noticed three young guys all talking in one of the aisles. I could tell they weren't supposed to be together, but like most teenagers, didn't really care. I was prepared for them not caring about my proposal as well, but figured what the hell...

I walked up and said, "Hey. I dunno if you can (or if you want), but do you think you could check in back for more of these? I wanna get a couple of them and this all I see out." The one guy repeated the "if you want" part and laughed. They called someone in the warehouse and gave them the number. When the guy on the other end of the walkie-talkie asked how many I wanted, I casually requested if it would be cool if they bring down the whole case as there might be different ones. "Do you know what they look like?", they asked. At this point, after seeing they were into helping me out, I dropped the charade and explained that I was looking for a white one that "looked like a mint lifesaver" and an orange one. I then showed them a 6" Rinzler figure and said "That's the dude you'll see on the package." I then said straight up, "if they're all blue ones, don't even bother." A few mins. later the guy in back came out with 2 Rinzler and Flynn Sr.

As I was saying thanks, his Supervisor came down the aisle and said to him "Shouldn't you be in shoes?". I immediately intercepted with, "That's my fault. I saw him on my way to the toy section and asked if he could help, which he very much did". The manager nodded, I gave him a wink, and was off. Good karma.

In short, they aren't all bad. You just have to find the right guys. And if anyone thinks they may get the "Have to sell what's on the floor before we bring out more stock." line, hide the Sam Flynns! Who cares? It's a tad on the immature side, but it's not a crime. :-)

At the very least, the Blue Rinzler & Derezzed Black Guard figures shouldn't be available to buy right now. To my knowledge, the factories haven't even started producing those figures, let alone started distribution to retailers. where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

aaaaahh so they indeed are being made? My question is will the Blue Rinzler be called "TRON" on the packaging or will he be called "Rinzler"? and will we ever get to see the other figures we so desprately desire such as helmeteless variations of our fav characters and a Kevin Flynn in a black outfit as well as a young Flynn?

Wheat - since the movie is out and all, couldn't you now disclose the full line up to be released? I've seen a pdf for series 1 wayback with estimated prices and a retailer's list for exclusives. Couldn't that be made available for Tron-Sector for series 2 & 3?

me: I'm looking for a Tron toy. I've checked the display and it's not there, can you check the back?
them: what we have on display is all of it
me: you have nothing in the back?
them: we have to sell what's on the floor first
you: is that policy? I know of others who have asked and they check the back for them
them: (silently goes to display)
me: (explain the white disc, explain the common DPCI)
them: (calls the back on the radio, goes to the back, comes out smiling but empty handed)

script 2:
me: I'm looking for a Tron toy. I've checked the display and it's not there, can you check the back?
them: all we have in the back are boxes and we can't open them
you: is that policy? I know of others who have asked and they check the back for them
them: we can't open the boxes in the back
me: is there anyone else I can talk to about this?
them: (silently goes to display)

Whatever happened to customer service?

That sucks, dude. Seriously. I always offer to check in the back and go back there personally and pull whatever product we have.

My Script:

You: I'm looking for a Tron toy. I've checked the display and it's not there, can you check the back?
Me: Yeah, just one sec...(Looking it up on my PDA/scanning the barcode to bring it up on the screen). We do have more in the back, do you want me to bring some out?

And it would go from there. I'm really sorry that you've met so much resistance, but I can tell you for a FACT that there is no such policy that we cannot bring out merchandise from the back, even if there's still product on the shelf. Our aim is to please the customer, so that's what we're supposed to do to the best of our ability...and everyone that works there should be able to go to the back/walkie for the back to check.

jediknight0 Wrote:Well, the one helpful Target employee that I've had help me (she even suggested "let me go look in the back" before I asked) had no luck looking up the UPC in either her handheld device or the computer. She did find things using the DPCI but that isn't accurate enough with the 3 discs sharing the same code.

I assure you that the problem isn't on my side. I'm quite capable of asking simple questions... occasionally even a complex one!

I decided as soon as the film came out that I wanted to nab some of the toys. I got Sam Flynn and the lightcycles, but I've been holding out on the rest to see if they make versions with faces. Not a big fan of the non-removable masks. I've been trying to hunt down a Castor now that series 2 is more common, but unfortunately where I live, all the stores are stopping carrying Tron figures one by one. The only reliable one in town now seems to be Target, but they've been great about checking their stockroom inventory. Has anyone else had any luck with Castor?

Hmmm, well most of us are hoping they become available. Is there a way for someone here to work with the company on how the toys look and which characters should be released as figures? I'm sure they would want to communicate with the hard core fans out there that are buying these in bulk, in order to increase profit. I'd be happy to correspond with someone about it.

I noticed that the image they were using for the new Sam figure is the same as what is on the back of the series 2 packaging. He's all glossy and has painted fingers and a blue helmet. That's a little misleading. Oh, and also I decided to keep the Clu figure I got since he was the proper orange color. His package was already slighty open already anyway. However, after opening him and trying to turn his head, the head snapped off like it was a piece of hard candy. So it'll be returned with the rest, but for an exchange. Its actually the first Tron Legacy figure I've had break on me.

I have yet to go and ask anyone at Target for anything in the back, but it seems to me that customer service varies from store to store. Some are great, some are not. I'll have to try out the various tactics I've seen here to find what I'm looking for.

I think its okay that Castor was held back, since the 3rd series is supposed to focus more on the games. Zuse/Castor was featured in the games moreso than the movie anyway, so it makes sense. on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill onlineorder abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

San Jose, CA - so I have a lot of Targets that are within striking distance. I've hit about 8 of them at various times but have only starting asking to check the back recently.

It wouldn't be a proper page of this thread without someone asking about Castor.

I get the feeling that the paint variants of Sam, Tron, and the Guard were at one point supposed to be the series 2 figures, but for whatever reason they just rerelased the same figures from series 1 instead.

Personally, if they weren't released as part of series 2 I'd rather they not take up slots of what could be more desirable releases. If they do another Sam or if they do Tron I'd hope they do helmets off instead of just paint variations. Only way I'd want to see these is if they were simply series 2 refreshers. Meaning they start packing these in with future series 2 cases instead of the ones we're getting now, and maybe by that point in time Castor could be included as well.

I don't understand why they didn't release the repaints along with Quorra and Jarvis and Castor as a complete series 2. It would have refreshed this line and kept interest and sales going strong through the holidays. I've seen other toy companies mismanage lines before like Mattel did with the 2001 Masters of the Universe and Hasbro numerous times with Star Wars and Indiana Jones. They even teased collectors by revealing images of an entire series of Indiana Jones figures that got canceled. Spin Masters is falling into the same pitfalls that kill toy lines. Their biggest mistake was not giving them actor-likeness heads except for that embarrassing Kevin Flynn. I think if they did release a Quorra it would look nothing like Olivia Wilde and look more like Dora the Explorer.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

I agree that it was a mistake not giving them the actor's heads (removable helmets should have been a given, especially considering the helmets are large enough to fit over a head without looking oversized), but I don't think the Kevin's head is a terrible sculpt. I think it just suffers from a terrible paint job. Using photoshop I filled in the beard and eyebrows to see what the head could look like if I painted it and I ended up with this.

I think that looks pretty satisfactory for a 4 inch figure, and It'll look even better if you work some more gray into the hair and beard. This is an extremely easy mod that anyone can do. Just use acrylic paint and you'll be good.
