You could 3d model in the free google sketchup and send it to shapeways. They are awesome and very reasonable.

I wouldn't be able to match the connection points though. I'm taking about making a new light-up section for the torso altogether, and that would have to be very precise to work. And aside from that, I'm horrible at 3D modelling. I've been trying since like 7th grade, and now as a senior, I've yet to produce anything worthwhile.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

I have:
-CLU (3 inch)
-Kevin Flynn (3 inch)
-Clu's lightcycle
-Kevin's lightcycle
-Rinzler and Sam frisbees.
I really want some electronic Identity discs to mod, but nothing else other than that.
I also found that Kevin's lighcycle has some extra space to put figure's discs/batons/weapons in it, It's a good place to keep those little things so they don't get lost so easily!

Quick review of the 3 man light jet.
I will say this when I heard that they were doing a 3 man light jet I was very excited about it. Then I actually got one yesterday. I must say I am very disapointed in this product. The first thing you will notice when you get this is that the wings do not fold up like in the movie. Wheatking has already stated that this was to cust cost. Thats fine I can understand this. But now lets get to the lighting effect, with the delux light cycles, and the light runner they all had the function where you sat your chacter in the seat and lock them inplace (if you could figure out how to do it and they stay that way .) So when you hit the effect button the light stayed on for 30 seconds or so. With this one, even though the box says the figures activate the light effect this is not true. There is a main power switch on the underside of the jet. When you place the figures into the cabin nothing happens. The light activates when you go to fire one of the projectiles and only stays on while you are holding the button in. If you are any good at minor electrical work and soldering, this can be fixed by modding. I plan on doing this and I will post a walk through with pictures when I start it. Finally (now this might have been a QC issue with my particular batch). When you slide the rear gun out the two guns are supposed to pop up. On mine only the left gun works the right one just sits there. I had already thrown the box away along with the reciept (should have held onto it.) If I did I think I would have returned it. I think this could have been a really cool item I would have gladly payed the extra five or ten dollars to get a really good item but as is, its a big disapointment and not worth the 27 dollars. Spinmasters droped the ball on this one.
So to recap.
Pros.
.It is a nice looking mold
.It does hold three figures. (when the rear gun is deployed)
Cons.
The wings do not fold.
The figures have nothing to do with the lighting effect.(even though they fit much better in this than the light runner)
The lighting effect is only active when you launch a missle (held down.)
The "engine" area does not light up
.One of the rear guns does not pop up (QC issue)
No sort of landing gear, so if you want to display it, its a balancing act.

I had a chance to open my 3-man light jet today, I dig it. Yeah the light detail could have been better, especially with 3 AAA it should have a constant on switch, but overall the vehicle is great. The rear guns on mine both work fine.

Got the three man light jet today. Could have been better, but still a fun toy. Wish it had landing gear, wish it would light up longer, etc etc. But still the coolest TRON vehicle yet I think.
I have not taken the core figure out of the packaging yet, so I tried some older figures in it. The original 80's TRON figures fit in the cockpit with effort. I wonder how well the hatch closes on the Flynn and Quorra figures? :P
In the back, I was able to actually store a micronaut or 80's Star Wars AT&AT commander figure (which is kinda small) in with the gun and close it up. So if you have a small figure it will fit in the closed gun.
All and all, I LOVE this toy! I think it needs modding, but a great start to a good vehicle. Like I say, rigging the lights, and adding landing gear... maybe making the wings fold and this will be perfect.
So anyone try the core figures in this plane yet? Did the front hatch close on them alright?
Interestingly enough, the Cloud City (Star Wars) from the 80's did not have the hatch close on the figure, but the taller but more articulate Cloud City pilot from the 00's fit just fine. I thinking the Legacy figures with more articulation probably work aliright with the front hatch.

I was thinking of getting some EL wire for the vector lines on the wings for the one-man jet and perhaps the 3-man as well.

What I plan on doing is un soldering the connections from the missile switches and attach them to some micro momentary switches. Then to drill a hole in the back of each seat and glue in the switches from behind. That way when you place the figures in it,it will light up.

Yeah I understand that. What I'm trying to find out is if it is part of Target's sale until 2/19 though. Probably not but would really like to save a few bucks on this thing.

Also, if they are part of series 2, this in no way guarantees a series 3. I personally think we will never see a series 3. Maybe not even a Castor figure as it would not be the 1st time something appeared on the back of a card and never made it to retail. I really don't want him as a figure anyhow, I thought his character in the movie sucked. He was a flamboyant weirdo.
Don't get me wrong, i would like to have an Abraxas or Anon figure, but odds are it will not happen. |
And why would you want those assholes to do such thing? So others don't have the benefit of purchasing it at retail but rather refer to feebay instead? Heck no.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

I've gotten a lot of valuable info here so here's my first return:
Nashville, TN (most recent check almost two weeks ago)
Targets:
Better luck at Target on White Bridge Rd
Target at Nashville West usually picked down
Target Rivergate very variable
Not many core figures at any.
Kmart:
Only tried Long Hollow Pike, some throwable Sam discs and a few vehicles at retail.
Denver, CO Area (checked most today, 01/27/2011)
TRUs:
Checked East Arapahoe Rd and 88th and Sheridan.
Almost cleaned out. No 3 man light jets.
All Tron toys moved to a small display near the front.
Not a good sign in my mind. See pics.
Kmart on E Colfax in Aurora:
Huge depth of all Series 1. All at retail.
Bought the only two Rinzler throwable discs.
Target at 80th and Wadsworth, Arvada:
Mixed, see pics. Some on temporary price cut.
Picasa photo album:

I am looking to trade for a Deluxe Clu Light Cycle and a Deluxe 3 Man Light Jet. I could pick up items and ship them in trade? Thanks!
