I went to Target yesterday and both locations got a box of a deluxe ID discs. So I finally got a Kevin Flynn disc at the first location! Phew. The second location also got a box and it looked like someone got their Kevin + Rinzler discs as there was just one Rinzler disc left.

Now I'm down to trying to get the 2" Tron Arcade (and the rest of 2" series 2). These locations either never got them (yet) or someone bought them all. There is usually a leftover or twos to see that a package did come.

First location also got a batch of more one man Gliders, but the figures just continue to dwindle to none.

I picked up another Jarvis, two more Quorras, and both Clu variants from Disneystore.com. I wanted duplicates for vehicles and future dioramas (plus if any break).

(Also still wishing for that Disney UK Recognizer set. I can't even buy it at any price.)
(And keeping hopes alive for more core figs.)

New York Toy Fair is being held this week. All the big toy companies roll out this year's products. Action figure news sites like www.cooltoyreview.com will be running coverage all weekend. Hopefully Spinmaster is there.

If a W3 isn't announced I have a feeling that W2 stuff is going to get really hard to find unfortunately. I have noticed in the last two weeks that stock at my local Targets hasn't turned over very much. I've still yet to find Sam + Arcade but I feel lucky to have gotten my S2 diecasts, 4" guys and deluxe id discs.

Ive wanted (2) Three man lights jets...one for display /modifying and one original in box. So like everyone else been scouring the retailers...no luck. Online until recently no luck. To hit all retailers in area could spend three hours round trip. So girlfriend calls checks retailers with codes for 3 man light jet. A week ago a toys r us had 2 in stock, I been sick for 2 weeks and wasnt feeling up to the drive. So she goes and picks 2 up for me for a Valentines gift (sweet girl) which I didnt know at the time. So I told her we need to find this jet ASAP for fear of it being end of the line. So other day she calls me..... hey toys r us has jets online....I was at work and excited, couldnt wait to head to lunch get online and let everyone here know about the find. So I orderd just one and figured i will find a second one at retail store. Cool right...oh yeah ! Yesterday afternoon she tells me that she has something for me....what could it be? In a 3ft tall red valantines bag was 2 three man light jets....WOO-HOO ! Overwhelmed I said.....you know the funny thing is I just orderd one of these online....lol. It's typical for movie based toy lines to have product released when the film is in theaters, and then again when it comes out on dvd. Those are the two times when interest will be highest, and it makes sense since dvd and blu-ray will bring in more fans who may have skipped seeing the film in theaters, not to mention reignite the interest of people who saw it in theaters and liked it. It would be a missed opportunity to not have product available at that time.

This is a great list of evidence for why the line may be slowing down, but I certainly don't see the line drying up completely (not that you are insinuating that it will). This would be the time for Spinmaster to assess what worked and what didn't and start planning future waves based on that (as I believe they are doing).

For instance, although the deluxe figures weren't as well received for a host of reasons (not least of which price point), the core figures seem to sell brisquely. The problem now isn't that interest is dying down it's that current supply is outpacing demand based on the fact that most who want the core figures (and vehicles for that matter) have them. The only two new core figures in Wave 2- although not instant sell-outs- sell well enough, which is indication to me that fans want more they are just tired of seeing the same 4-5 figures on the pegs (or is that just me??).

Regardless, I think somewhere in the middle both of us are right- in that the line is dying down and demand isn't as high, but I don't see this as an indicator that the line is dying altogether. If this were true the figures and vehicles would be clearanced (as many poor performers from 2010 are currently) which simply isn't the case. Trust me, I have many, many trips to WM, TRU, and Target over the last yr or so which prove this to be true. :-)
